DESCRIPTION:Click for Latest Location Information: http://edw2012.dataversity.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=65&proposalid=4288\nThis discussion will enable financial services attendees to share experiences and challenges in the current environment of heavy data demands and accountability. \nFor example, how can better data management help the problem of systemic risk which was at the heart of the financial crisis of 2008? Current regulatory and industry efforts are focusing on getting a more accurate view of risk exposures across asset classes, lines of business, and firms in order to predict systemic interplays.\nAlso, managing large amounts of structured and unstructured information (including reference data, OTC contracts, positions data, etc.) is a key aspect of these efforts, and is all dependent on effective data management.\nWe will discuss how different cutting-edge technologies - from real-time integration and warehousing to semantics, distributed data grids and BI tools - can work together to enable comprehensive data management and timely, aggregated analytics across the firm. Bring your own experiences to the conversation and listen to the other examples being presented.
